Sal Island

Situated under the Islands Canarie, to 450 km from the coast of Senegal and to the same latitude of Barbados, the archipelago of Green Head, is composed from 10 splendid islands.
Of vulcanic origin, Cabo Verde you attract for the its emphasized contrasts between the seven more western islands, which are characterized from uneven relief and the other three islands from the long sandy expanses.
Perennially divided in two groups, “windward” and “leeward”, from the winds that arrive from the continent, the first one is constituted from the islands of Sant’Antao , S.Vicente, Santa Luzia (deserted), S.Nicolau, Sal, Boavista, and the second one, more to south, that it includes Maio, Santiago, Fogo and Brava.
During all the year the sun irradiates heat mitigated from the fresh breeze of the sea. The climate is tropical and dry; the medium temperatures oscillate around to the 25° and the thermal excursions do not exceed the 10°. Long beaches, optimal for all the types of nautical sports, breathtaking mountains, fish and sea fruits of advanced quality, they constitute the business card of Cabo Verde, all melodically enriched from the singularity and beauty of its music. To associate-political level, the country distinguishes for its stability and absence of any type of conflict, and where it is in force a republic stable democratic (the government is of center-left) with universal suffrage elections every four years. Strongly influenced from the western culture, the people is of Christian religion, in the overwhelming majority, catholic.
